Ray Township Fire and Rescue is a volunteer paid on call department. It was established in 1975 and is centrally located in the township at the corners of 29 Mile and Wolcott Roads. It is fully staffed and equipped to handle any and all fire and rescue emergencies.
All emergency calls are handled through the county wide 911 system.
It is a township ordinance that you must have a permit before burning. Burning permits are issued year round for 7 to 10 days a time. To obtain a permit please call the Ray Township Offices Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at 586-749-5171 or the Ray Township Fire Hall at 586-749-3059.
